A Community Pharmacy NI Board member

I represent the Western area of Northern Ireland, specifically Fermanagh & South Tyrone.

I work in an area where it’s a 15 mile minimum round trip to visit a GP. This led me to an interest in looking at how rural community pharmacies can provide a broader range of healthcare services to the local population. One way we have achieved this is by ensuring services are more accessible to all by building strong community links. For example we run charity health check coffee mornings, regular health promotion evening seminars within the local community centres, work closely with GPs, carers and nurses and have established strong links with the Alzheimer’s Society.
